A gentle, all-purpose salve for calming irritated skin and promoting relaxation.

25 minutes
Ointment
Small jars of homemade lavender salve, surrounded by fresh lavender sprigs.
Instructions
  1. Create a lavender-infused oil by gently heating the coconut oil and dried lavender in a double boiler for at least 1 hour. Do not let it boil.
  2. Strain the oil through a cheesecloth to remove the lavender flowers, squeezing to get all the oil out.
  3. Return the infused oil to the double boiler and add the beeswax pellets. Stir until the beeswax has completely melted.
  4. Remove from heat. If using, add the lavender essential oil and stir.
  5. Quickly pour the mixture into small tins or glass jars.
  6. Let the salve cool and solidify completely at room temperature for several hours.
